Addiction Recovery
The origins of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association date back to the early 1970s when a neurosurgeon from Hong Kong appeared to relieve the opium withdrawals symptoms of a patient by stimulating an acupuncture point in the ear.
Over the years, this discovery was refined into a standardized five-point treatment known as the "NADA protocol".
Today, it is mostly used as a complementary treatment for addiction cravings and withdrawal symptoms in nicotine addiction; however, because of the protocol's ability to reduce stress and improve sleep, its application is often expanded to other conditions.
